WelcomeCentral Middle School consists of 44,000 square feet of building located on 31 acres providing a panoramic view of our county and mountains. The new school opened its doors on November 18, 2002. We have 330 sixth, seventh and eighth graders. The campus also has a pond and a large creek that runs through the back of the property. Parents, teachers, students and townspeople are extremely proud of our new facility. In addition to school activities, the gym and cafeteria have also been used for a variety of county functions. The school boasts a variety of cheerful colors as well as focusing on our school colors of blue and white in the gymnasium. This year we met the benchmarks designed by the No Child Left Behind law. This means that we had no deficiencies in math, reading, language arts or reading. However, we are still awaiting the state report card. We try to provide an enriching, challenging curriculum which meets the state standards in all subjects. Beginning band is offered as well as many exploratory classes during the last period of the day. Some of these exploratory classes are required of those students who are struggling with a particular subject. Plus we offer Academic Intervention help early every morning and in the afternoons after school. We want all students to be successful. We welcome parents and anyone interested in visiting our school. We want everyone to be aware of the exciting learning that takes place daily. However, if you cannot visit, perhaps this web site will offer information that you need. |
